At Data for Traders, every piece of data tells a unique story in the trading universe.

Hi,

My name is Rish. My trading journey began as a young teenager, guided by my father, who has not only been my mentor but also my best friend throughout this entire journey. Now I’m in my 30s, and I hope to bring nearly two decades of market experience into every insight I share here.

My academic path to get here was just as chaotic as the markets themselves. I dabbled in economics, delved into psychology, and even ventured into pre-med, before a passion for problem-solving steered me towards a degree in computer science. Throughout this academic rollercoaster, one passion remained consistent above all others—my love for trading and data.

This passion was ignited early on thanks to discussions with my dad, pouring over market trends, charts and learning to decode the complexities of financial data. Those formative years not only taught me about markets but also about the discipline and persistence required to succeed in trading. They instilled in me a deep respect for the data-driven decisions that shape successful trading strategies.

As I matured, so did my approach to trading, evolving from instinctive guesses to sophisticated, data-informed strategies. Now after a decade as a software engineer, I decided to blend my technical skills with my market insights, transforming my lifelong interest into this platform—Data for Traders. Here, I aim to share the insights gleaned from a lifetime of learning and trading, hoping to inspire and educate others who share my passion for the markets.

You will also find posts going back to 2009, when I started my first trading blog as a teenager, Mastering the Market. I left them here a testament to my journey and how far I have come.

While the insights here are meant to inform and inspire, please remember they are not financial advice. Each trader should conduct their own research and make decisions that align with their personal risk tolerance. Any trading or investment decisions you make are solely your responsibility.

So, welcome to Data for Traders – where l hope to inspire creativity in trading through data and analysis.
